'Improvisations for Ballet Class' is an album designed to work as an accompaniment to a complete ballet class.

Recorded at Robert Sudall's home studio during the lockdown of 2020, the music contained here consists of original improvisations, suitable for setting to each of the specified ballet exercises.

Drawing on Robert's experience in working as a pianist at Northern Ballet the music covers a bewildering array of styles, influences, tempi and energies, promising to lead both student and teacher on a path that is both familiar yet inspiring.

The project was consulted on by Northern Ballet’s Jane Tucker, whose help and guidance has been invaluable, and to whom Robert extends his grateful thanks.
